Obituary of Mary Gail Nolan, R.S.M.
Sister Gail, 74, died on Friday, November 9, 2012 at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, 1633 US Hwy 22, Watchung, NJ.
Gail entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1956 from St. Rose of Lima Parish in Freehold, NJ. She was one of two children born to Joseph and Helen (Gleason) Nolan. She is survived by her brother, Michael Nolan, of Topeka, Kansas.
Sister Gail was a gentle and loving Sister of Mercy who ministered as teacher, parish Director of Religious Education, and social service professional in the dioceses of Camden, Metuchen and Trenton. As a teacher she ministered at St. Matthew School, Edison, NJ, St. John School, Paulsboro, NJ, Sacred Heart School, South Plainfield, NJ, and St. James School, Red Bank, NJ. Her career as Director of Religious Education took her to St. Paul Parish, Princeton and St. Gabriel Parish, Marlboro, NJ. In Social Service Work, she served at Ocean County Catholic Charities and at Catholic Charities in Perth Amboy, NJ.
She is especially remembered for her great desire to serve the "People of God" in her own special way with the many gifts God had given her.
Visitation will take place at McAuley Hall Health Care Center, 1633 US Hwy 22, Watchung, NJ on Tuesday, November 13, 2012. The Wake will be from 9: 30 AM to 11:00 AM (Welcome Home 9:45 AM) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.
Burial will be in Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold, NJ.
