Obituary of Celia Scolnick
Celia (Kieves) Scolnick, age 77, died on Friday, October 17, 2003 at her home in Piscataway. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Carl Place, LI before moving to Piscataway in 1958.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Scolnick worked as an administrative assistant for Schneider Electric Co. in South Plainfield. She was an avid member of Piscataway Senior Citizens and a past president of Arbor Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former member of Piscataway PTA.
Mrs. Scolnick enjoyed birdwatching, traveling, and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Scolnick, in 1998. Surviving are three sons, Howard Scolnick and his wife Tammy of Piscataway, Dr. David Scolnick and his wife Dr. Ita of Denville, and Robert Scolnick of North Plainfield; and four grandchildren, Paul, Jennifer, Joshua and Adam Scolnick.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 20th at 10:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield, NJ 07060. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice @ JFK Medical Center, 80 James Street, Edison, NJ 08818 or to Chabad of Northwest New Jersey, 1 Torah Way, Rockaway, NJ 07866.
