Obituary of John W. Bieda
John W. Bieda, age 85 , 85, died Thursday (Nov. 13, 2003) at Scared Heart Hospital in Allentown, Pa. Mr. Beida was born in Elizabeth and lived in North Plainfield from 1970 to 2002 when he relocated to Northhampton, Pa.
He was a communicant of St. Marys Stony Hill Roman Catholic Church in Watchung.
John was a World War II Army veteran, serving his country proudly as a member of the 37th signal company. He served in the Philippines Northern Solomons Luzon. He was a supervisor for the Exxon Corp. in Elizabeth for 35 years, retiring in 1981.
John was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Linden. He was a huge football fan and loved the Yankees and the Giants, but his biggest love was being involved with his grandchildren.
Mr. Beida was predeceased by his wife, Helen Kasbelonis Beida, who died July 12, 2002.
He is survived by his son, John J. Beida and his wife, Carol, of Bridgewater; a daughter, Justyne J. Ciecwisz and her husband, Gregory, of Northhampton, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Scott and Mark, Damien, Kolby, Tanner and Montanna.
Funeral services will begin 8:15 a.m. Monday from the Higgins Home for Funerals,752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Marys Stony Hill Roman Catholic Church, Watchung. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday.
