Obituary of Muriel “Chickie” Labate

Plainfield: Muriel Chickie Nevicati Labate, died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she resided in Plainfield since 1953. Mrs. Labate was past chairman of the Nearly New Shop of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She volunteered at the hospital and at its Service Shop. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of the Union County Medical Society, the Italian American Club of North Plainfield, the Laurel League of the Plainfields and the Evergreen Twig of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center. Her husband, Dr. Philip Labate predeceased her in 1976. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Labate of North Plainfield, a son Robert M. Labate and his wife Karen of North Plainfield and two grandchildren, Casey and Charlotte. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5th at 9:30 am at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield followed by interment at St. Johns Cemetery in Middle Village Queens.
