Donald Charles Rettino, died Saturday morning, November 17, 2012 in his home with his loved ones. He was born in Newark, NJ, graduated from Hillside High School and retired from UPS.
Don has two surviving sisters Colleen & Una, wife Lillian, son, Nick and his wife Debbie, gradchildren Nicky & Dana, along with great grand children, son, Donn, daughter Barbara and her husband John, grand children Gerrit & Megan. Don was Predeceased by his daughter Mary, she leaves three surviving children Kevin, Richard & Jessica and their children, his great grand children.
Don enjoyed life to its fullest and loved to travel. He was loved by many. He was always the first to lend a helping hand. Often you would find him outside fishing, taking long walks or long drives looking for the unknown. He had an uncanny sense of curiosity. Don or "Pop-Pop" will be remembered for looking up at the heavens in search of a shooting star, always teaching his children and grand children something new or building/woodworking & fixing anything around the house. He was a boyscout and teacher at heart.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 5pm to 7 pm at Higgins Funeral Home, Watchung NJ.
