Obituary of John Lovell “Jack” Murray

John Jack Lovell Murray, age 63, died on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in New York, he was born and raised in Summit, N.J. before moving to North Plainfield in 1979. Mr. Murray worked as an building engineer for Local 68 Union of Operating Engineers in West Caldwell. He was a member of St. Marys Stony Hill Church in Watchung. He loved reading and working with children. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in the Local 68. Mr. Murray is survived by his beloved wife, Gail (Habig) Murray of North Plainfield; his two brothers-in-law, John Habig and his wife Kelly of New Hampshire and Robert and his wife Linda of California; his mother-in-law, Lillian (Murphy) Habig; and his nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jim, Lauren, and Claire Habig. Friends will gather in his honor on Monday, January 5th from 5:00 7:00 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung, NJ 07069. Memorial Mass will be private.
