Obituary of Etta “Mitzi” Gusack

Etta Mitzi Mitzman Gusack, age 94, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Arbor Glen in Bridgewater. Born in Manhattan, Mitzi married Arthur Gusack in 1932 and they both resided in Washington, DC for 7 years. She worked for the Civil Service Commission during WWII and moved to Plainfield when Arthur was transferred from his position of lawyer with the Veterans Administration to a position at Lyons VA Hospital. Mrs. Gusack lived in Plainfield for 15 years, working for GAF in South Bound Brook. She moved to Bridgewater in 1998. Mitzi was a life member of the Westfield Chapter of Hadassah and the Jewish Home for the Aged in Franklin. She was a member of Temple Sholom in Plainfield for over 40 years. Her husband Arthur predeceased her in 1951. Her son, Dr. Floyd B. Gusack died in 1989 and daughter Diane M. Gusack died in 1999. Surviving are three granddaughters Amanda E. Gusack of Los Angeles, Jennifer Lynn Gusack of Brooklyn, NY and Traci Gusack Doll and her husband Ken of Reston, VA. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2004 at 10:00 am at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Gill Lane in Iselin with Rabbi Joel Abraham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
