Obituary of Michael W. Zocchi

Mr. Michael W. Zocchi, 95, died Monday, November 26, 2012 at Delaware Hospice in Milford, DE. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Michael was stationed in England where he served with the Army Air Corps during WWII. He met and married his wife Eileen in Watford, England. Michael sent Eileen and their baby daughter to live in the U.S. with his family in October of 1944 and he returned to the States after being honorably discharged in 1945. Michael and Eileen lived in Elizabeth and Basking Ridge before moving to Rehoboth Beach, DE in 2008. Michael was employed by NJ Bell Telephone in Elizabeth for 47 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His beloved wife of 67 years, Eileen Muriel Bedford Zocchi, predeceased him in 2010. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Scaglione and her husband, Dominick of Rehoboth Beach, DE with whom Michael resided; a son, Peter Zocchi and his wife, Susan of Bronx, NY; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 10:00-11:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.
