Obituary of Frances M. Sage

Frances M.(nee Mundy) Sage, age 89, died on March 4, 2004 at Norwood Terrace Nursing Home in Plainfield. Born and raised in Plainfield to the late Clarence W. and Annie Gray Mundy, Frances lived in North Plainfield before residing in Warren in 1954. Frances worked as a bookkeeper for Tobin & Peterson Plumbing for five years and Plainfield Union Water Company for 10 years, retiring in 1944. She also worked with her husband at the Sage Builders & Developers Corporation in Warren as his bookkeeper. As a young woman, she played a lot of badminton, was artistically inclined, and in her spare time she enjoyed bible teaching, knitting, pinochle and the summer shore. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Merwin Sage of Warren; her son, Robert M. Sage and his wife Lois of Burbank, CA; her daughter, Barbara Carter and her husband James of Warren; four grandchildren, Schuyler, Randall, Shea and John and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 10 Norwood Drive, Gillette. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Warren Rescue Squad, 6 Bardy Road, Warren, NJ 07059.
