Obituary of Sebastian Frank Parlato
Sebastian Frank Parlato, 97, died on Tuesday March 9th, 2004 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater. Mr. Parlato was born in N.Y.C., and had resided in Staten Island and Florida until moving to NJ seven years ago.
Prior to retiring Mr. Parlato worked for Procter and Gamble in , St. Vincents Hospital, St. Michaels Home, as a electrician for Wagner College all in Staten Island, and most recently as a supervisor for the Parks Department of New York City.
He was a United States Navy World War II Veteran having served in the Sea Bees Division and was a lifetime member of their organization. Mr. Parlato was a member and past commander of the VFW Post # 248 in Staten Island NY, and a member of the American Legion post 0159 in FL. He enjoyed bowling and at 88 he bowled several 200 games.
He is pre-deceased by his wife Mary Parlato in 1991 and his daughter Josephine Filak in 1996. He is survived by a son Anthony Skip Parlato and his wife Bernadette of Warren; a brother Arthur Parlato of Scarsdale NY; two grandchildren Joseph Parlato and his wife Brenda of Kingwood NJ, and Susan Parlato of Plainsboro. Also surviving is one great grandson Danny Parlato.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday March 12th at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ (908) 756-0017 followed by a 10:00 am funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. Interment will be held at Moravian Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
