Obituary of Rebecca Lee Libutti

Rebecca Lee (Tullgren) Libutti, age 48, died on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Overlook Hospital after a long struggle with a brain tumor. Mrs. Libutti was born in Manchester, NH and had lived in Roselle Park and Union for a while before residing in Scotch Plains 20 years ago. Mrs. Libutti worked for 12 years with Mutual Benefit Life & The Guardian in Newark as a Vice President of Marketing and Insurance Agent before retiring in 1993. She also enjoyed playing tennis, skiing, traveling and engaged in bible educational work. Mrs. Libutti worked as a counselor helping people to cope with their illness. She was a strong advocate of the National Brain Tumor Association, participated as Director for the Brain Trust Organization, and had even written a book called, Thats Unacceptable Surviving a Brain Tumor My Personal Story. She has appeared on the television show, 60 Minutes, been interviewed across the country and Canada lending support and acting as an advocate to the cure of brain cancer. Mrs. Libutti is survived by her husband, Warren D. Libutti and her daughter Krystal Lee Libutti both of Scotch Plains. Her parents, Robert and Betty Liapis Tullgren of Manchester, NH; her brother Brian R. Tullgren of Milford, NH; two sisters Jodi Labate of Westfield, NJ and Cindy Krisanda of Holderness, NH. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 10 Norwood Drive, Gillette, NJ. Cremation was private. Arrangements are by Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
