Lydia E. Collora, age 94, died on Monday, March 15th at the Norwood Terrace Nursing Center in Plainfield. Ms. Collora was born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Scotch Plains and North Plainfield at the Villa Maria from 1967 until moving to Plainfield.
Prior to retiring in 1978, Ms. Collora worked as a clerk for 28 years at the Childrens Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. She was a devout Catholic and also volunteered at the Villa Maria for many years.
She is predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Angela (Baruetti) Collora (1966), her brother Nicholas Collora (1993) and two nephews Richard L. Collora (1968) and Nicholas E. Collora (2003).
The rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 18th at the Villa Maria, 641 Somerset Street, North Plainfield, NJ followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. The interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery in Plainfield. Memorial donations may be made in her loving memory to the Childrens Specialized Hospital, New Providence Road, Mountainside, NJ 07092.
