Josephine K. (Blair) Sanko, 91, died on Wednesday March 17, 2004 at Runnells Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights.
Jo was born May 10, 1912 in Elizabeth and spent her childhood in Roselle Park. Her marriage in 1937 to Joseph Sanko brought her to Plainfield where, she resided until her move to North Plainfield in 1954.
An avid gardener, Jo spent many hours tending her plants and flowers. She enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with her friends and was an active member of the National Mah Jongg League. She was a communicant of St. Josephs R.C. Church in North Plainfield for over fifty years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who died in 1969.
Surviving is her daughter, Audrey H. Sanko of North Plainfield; two brothers Stanley Blair of Clark NJ, and John Blair of York PA and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am on Saturday March 20, 2004 at St. Josephs R.C. Church in North Plainfield. Internment will follow at St. Gertrudes Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals 461 Somerset St. North Plainfield.
