Obituary of Nicholas Sokoloff

Mr. Nicholas A. Sokoloff, 82, died Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Newark, he resided in Hillside and North Plainfield for 10 years, before moving here in 1993. Prior to retiring, Mr. Sokoloff was employed as a vending machine mechanic for Canteen Corp. of America in Nutley. Mr. Sokoloff was a member of the Pilgrim Covenant Church in South Plainfield for many years. A US Navy Veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the American Legion Post # 209 of Scotch Plains. Surviving are his longtime friend, Dorothy M. Ammon of Plainfield, and several other dear friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 7 at 12:00 noon at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth St., Plainfield with Pastor John Fisher officiating, followed by interment at Lake Nelson Memorial Park Cemetery in Piscataway. Visiation will be held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Donations to Dorothy M. Ammon, 1272 Park Avenue, Apt. 308, Plainfield, NJ 07060, for the Nicholas A.
