Obituary of Rose L. Mazer
Rose L. Mazer (nee Blankman), age 91, died on Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the McCutchen Friends Home in North Plainfield.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Mrs. Mazer graduated from the State Normal School in Jersey City, now known as the New Jersey City University; obtaining her teaching certificate in 1933. She was a member of Temple Beth El in Jersey City. Mrs. Mazer traveled extensively with her family. She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband, painting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Mazer is predeceased by her husband, Jack Mazer in 1985. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda Goldschein and her husband Joel of Watchung, three granddaughters, Sharon Parker, Gail B. Bell and Terri Goldschein and two great-grandsons, Zachary and Ian Parker.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2004 at 1 p.m. in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge with Rabbi Joel Abraham officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Rutgers University Foundation for the Jack Mazer Memorial Scholarship Fund at Winans Hall, 7 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. Arrangements are by the Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
