Obituary of Hazel Hewitt

Hazel I. (Gould) Hewitt, age 90, died on Wednesday April 14th 2004 at Berkeley Meadows Nursing Home in Berkeley Heights. Born in North Plainfield, Mrs. Hewitt lived in Warren for most of her life. Prior to retiring in 1985 Mrs. Hewitt worked for ten years as a clerk for Topps Cleaners in North Plainfield. She was a member and past president of the Watchung Hills Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Community Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary. Mrs. Hewitt is predeceased by her husband Albert Hewitt in 1971,her son J. Larry Hewitt in 1993, her daughter-in-law Mary and granddaughter Christie in 1994. She is survived by a daughter Betty I. Maire and her husband Kenneth of Bridgewater; a son Albert L. Hewitt of Atlantic City;a daughter-in-law, Carmela Hewitt of South Bound Brook and a sister Edith McCabe in Florida; She is survived by her grandchildren Richard, Larry and Wayne Snell; Stephen, Paul and Brian Hewitt and her great grand- children Karyssa, Scott, Wayne Jr., Kenny, Samantha and Jolee. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday April 19th at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung. Interment to follow at Springdale Methodist Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
