Obituary of Alice Ledder Good

Alice Ledder Good, 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at Watchung Ridge Assisted Living in Watchung. She was born on February 7, 1913 in Elizabeth, NJ, daughter of the late Samuel Ledder and Amelia Rekemeir Ledder. Mrs. Good was a lifelong volunteer in community activities. She served in many capacities in parent associations in Warren Township schools during her childrens school years, as well as leadership roles in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was one of the first volunteers in the early years of the Warren Township Public Library. Well into her eighties she continued her work with children, spending several mornings a week helping kindergartners. Mrs. Good was also active in her church groups, previously at Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church, in North Plainfield, and more recently at Trinity United Church in Warren. She married Joseph Good on May 29, 1936, who predeceased her in 1999. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Jean Good Sellin; a sister, Pearl Ledder Geschwindner; and three brothers, John D. Ledder, George H. Ledder and Stanley T. (Steve) Ledder. Mrs. Good is survived by two children, Joseph S. Good and his wife Nancy of Virginia Beach, VA and Ruth Alice Good Maiolo and her husband John of Chocowinity, NC; four grandchildren, Christopher R. Good of Richmond, VA, Alice Good Snook and her husband Harvey also of Richmond, VA, Amanda Maiolo Crane of Charlotte, NC, J. Alexander Maiolo and his wife Jennifer of Chapel Hill, NC and four great grandsons, Tyler Crane, Parker Crane, Jason Snook and Ryan Snook. She is also survived by one brother, Frederick W. Ledder and his wife Mildred of Gillette, NJ, one sister, Ruth Ledder Grady of Pittstown, NJ and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Trinity United Church in Warren.
