Obituary of Elsie Virginia Persiano

Elsie Virginia Persiano, age 93, died on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Greenbrook Manor Nursing Home, Green Brook. Mrs. Perisano had lived in Middlesex before moving to Watchung over 17 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Marys Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Mrs. Persiano enjoyed crocheting and she was a wonderful loving mother and great cook. She attended the Warren Township Nutrition Classes. Her first husband, Pasqulae DeVito died over 60 years ago. She is predeceased by her second husband, Michael Persiano, Sr., her son Vincent DeVito, her brothers Louis, John, Nicholas and Thomas Russo, her sisters Jennie Dagostino and Josephine Pasquale and grandchildren Mark, Donna Marie and Gina Persiano. She is survived by her sons, Patrick DeVito and his wife Elizabeth of Middlesex, Robert and his wife Michelle Persiano of Pembroke Pines, Florida, her daughter Regina Persiano and her husband Michael Persiano, Jr. of Watchung; her sisters Mary Tommolino of N Y, Rose Cascio of Elizabeth and Frances Sydorko of South Plainfield. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Michael III, Bruce, Robert and Erica Persiano; Patrick III, Jim and Paul DeVito, Tony Morgia and Gloria Demecki. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11th at 8:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 9:30 am Funeral Mass at St. Marys Stony Hill Church in Watchung. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge. There will be visiting hours held on Monday, May 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 at the funeral home.
