Obituary of Henry W. Ellerbusch

Henry Wilhelm Ellerbusch died Friday, November 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family, he was 89 years old. Visitation will be held on Friday December 7, from 7 to 9pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, N.J. Visitation will also be held at 10am on Saturday with funeral services at 11am followed by internment at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Warren, N.J. Henry was born in Sulingen, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1955 with his wife and young family; he resided in Elizabeth, N.J. until moving to Roselle Park, N.J. 33 years ago. He was a skilled electrician and electrical troubleshooter, a trade he learned in Germany and applied when he came to the United States. Henry was employed by Bristol-Myers in Hillside, N.J. and Bridgewater, N.J. for over 30 years; after retirement he worked with his son Frank for nearly a decade. Most recently he attended the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Warren N.J. He considered his life one of great opportunity; he loved his job, his family, and most of all he loved seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed music, playing in a brass band with long-time friends. His long marriage was a source of great pride. His commitment to his family will always be remembered and he will be missed by those who knew him. Henry was predeceased by his parents Friedrich Heinrich Wilhelm and Marie Sophie Frieda Ellerbusch, a sister, and a grandchild Ryan. Surviving are his wife of 64 years Frieda (Potz) Ellerbusch; his children Fred and his wife Lesley, Ulla and her husband Bob Damrau, Frank and his wife Anne, and Gary and his wife Ericka; his 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and his sister Wilma Wehrenberg.
