Obituary of Elizabeth F. Courain

Elizabeth F Courain, 87, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Arbor Glen Holly Health Care Center in Bridgewater. Born in Plainfield she was a lifelong resident. Prior to retiring in 1981, Ms. Courain was a secretary at Central Railroad of New Jersey in Newark. A lifelong communicant of St. Marys R.C. Church in Plainfield, she was a member of St. Marys Rosary Society and Catholic Womens Club. She was also a Eucharistic Minster. Ms. Courain enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her family and friends to North Carolina and to Virginia. She was active in the Warrenville and North Plainfield Senior Citizens groups and Learning for Life program in Plainfield. She also followed Rutgers womens basketball and enjoyed watching professional tennis matches and the New York Yankees. She is predeceased by her brothers Daniel and Charles Courain and her sisters Alice Courain, Laura Bimble, and Mary Louise Walters. She is survived by 5 nephews, 4 nieces, and many cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 from Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield, followed a funeral Mass at a time to be announced at St. Marys R.C. Church in Plainfield and interment at St. Marys Cemetery in Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
