Obituary of Angelina E. Tomaso

Angelina E. Dellaperute Tomaso, age 95, died on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Maddalone, Italy to the late Michael Dellaperute and Angelina Pizzo, Mrs. Tomaso had lived most of her life in Plainfield before moving to Warren 20 years ago. Mrs. Tomaso was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Martinsville. She worked for the Gerrante Dress Factory in Plainfield for 20 years as a Seamstress and Sample Maker retiring in 1976. She held the position as the Executive Chairman of the I.L.G.W.U. (International Ladies Garment Workers Union) of Newark, and she loved making clothes for her entire family. Mrs. Tomaso is predeceased by her husband, Nickolas Tomaso in 1974 and her son, Dr. Angelo L. Tomaso in 1992. She is survived by her son, Michael V. Tomaso of Warren; her sister, Mary A. Kargol of South Plainfield; her brother, Fred Dellaperute of Sussex; three grandchildren, Jessica Gower, Matthew and Jennifer Tomaso; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Katie Gower. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 25th at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Martinsville. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
