Obituary of Catherine Hollins Johnson

Catherine Hollins (Davis) Johnson, age 66, died on Friday May 21, 2004 at her home in Scotch Plains. Mrs. Johnson was born in Glen Ridge and had resided in Montclair, where she graduated form their school systems, before moving to Scotch Plains 39 years ago. Prior to retiring in 1996 Mrs. Johnson worked for Ciba-Geigy in Summit NJ as a clinical researcher for 22 years. She has been a life long member of St. Johns Baptist Church in Scotch Plains and was a former member of their Womens Gild. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed traveling, reading, and bowling. She was a member of the Stragglers Bowling League. Most of all she loved spending time with her good friends and family. She is predeceased by her husband Bernard Johnson. Surviving are two loving and caring daughters Sharon Hammond and her husband Stephon of Scotch Plains and Jodi Byers of Scotch Plains; a Son-in-law Anthony Byers of Plainfield; a brother Rubin Davis of North Miami FL, three sisters Sherly Davis of East Orange, Mildred Booker and her husband Irving of Newark, and Marion Barnett and her husband Tyrone of Athens GA; a brother-in-law Robert Johnson and his wife Sherly of East Orange. Also surviving are six grandchildren and an abundance of family and special friends. Funeral Services will be held at St. Johns Baptist Church in Scotch Plains on Thursday May 27 at 11:00 am.
