Pauline J. Hawks, 94, of Warren, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.

Mrs. Hawks was born and raised in Broadway, NC and had lived in Fayetteville, NC, East Orange and Berkeley Heights before moving to Warren.

Mrs. Hawks worked for Western Electric/Lucent Technologies for over 22 years before her retirement in 1973.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Eugene Smith and her second husband Andrew Hawks.

Surviving are her son, Eugene Smith and his wife Shirlee of Warren; her sister Gertrude Norton of Hillside; her grandchildren, Adrienne Chambers, Evadne R. Smith and Leslie Smith, her great-grandson, Randy Chambers and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the country.

Visitation will be held from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 1430 Park Avenue, Plainfield. A Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Hawks at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Arrangements are by Higgins Home for Funerals in Watchung.
