Obituary of Ruth Bowers

Ruth Fuchs Bowers, 94, of North Plainfield, died Monday, June 7, 2004 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Born in Scotch Plains, she resided in North Plainfield for 62 years. Mrs. Bowers was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Circle 3, Thiats, The Ladies Guild and the Young at Hearts Club all located at the Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church. Ruth enjoyed bird watching, nature walks, gardening, sewing and traveling. Her husband, Ellsworth Bowers predeceased her in 1983. Surviving are: her daughter Carol Leonard and her husband Joe of Kennesaw, Ga. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung with Rev. Brooks Smith officiating followed by interment at Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery in Warren. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
