Charles was the most unique person I have ever met. I have many memories of flying with him and many laughs through the years. I consider myself Lucky to have know him - he was truly special in many ways. I often told him that he was the most misunderstood man in America. He was my friend and I miss his friendship to this day. Press on my friend.

But I just. Found this obituary ,
I wanted to say thanks you for him saving my life.

On August 15, 1982, I was a at our cousins 1ST & last reunion. I dove into a Swimming Pool & Broke my Neck , C-6 & C-7 . I stood up & my chin was on my Belly Button. I was rushed to Bayshore Medical Center Hospital , in Holmdel ,NJ . They Summoned Dr. Kalko. He was just flying his jet to Phila, PA , I think it was there . Then he flew his Helicopter to Bayshore Hospital. When He arrived the whole Staff Jumped & started to run different was at his Command. If it wasn't for Him & his dedicated staff & his Knowledge, I wouldn't made a full recovery. I just thought of my 34 TH Neck Anniversary , I was SHOCKED TO HEAR OF HIS DEATH. He was only 42 when he operated on me. I was only 27, He told me that he was glad I was so young , if I was any older , I probably wouldn't recovered the way I did. I wanted to call & thank him today, But I can now Thank Him in HEAVEN, WHEN I SAY MY PRAYERS.
i WANT TO THANK HIS WIFE , FOR LETTING HIM DO WHAT HE STUDIED TO DO HELPING OTHERS. GOD REALLY BLESSED HIM, BUT WHY DID GOD TAKE HIM SO EARLY.
Thank You Dr. Charles Kalko , You are still Loved here on Earth !
Love Stephen Vallillo - Port Charlotte, FL......PS He told me to Move to a warmer Climate or I would have trouble with my Back & Neck my whole Life. He also made arrangements for me to go to Culinary Arts College & I went from 1984 to 1986 & after Graduation , July 14, I moved to Orlando , FL, My first day in Orlando, I drove by a Bank & the Temp. was 114 , I stopped & took a picture. I SENT IT TO WHO ELSE....DR. KALKO & WROTE **YOU SAID TO MOVE TO A WARMER CLIMATE....IS THIS WARM ENOUGH FOR YOU ?** LOVE STEVE

I met Dr.Kalko in 1997 after a car accident.
Debating what to do, I had him operating me in 2001.
He definitely gave me my life back. And holding him to his promise that I will walk out of the hospital, I DID! And his aggressive approach to heeling is what put me back on trek.
Thank you for all that you have done and condolences to the family

To the family of the late Dr. Kalko my whole office sends its condolences. Our clients have had considerable interaction with Dr. Kalko. It is difficult to see how we can continue without his input. I was fortunate enough to have him render devastating testimony before Judge Weiss. Once again our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have known Dr. Kalko since 1989 when i was in a car accident and hurt severly. He came to my rescue and allivated my pain and stuck by my side til i was well again. In 2000 I was a pedestrial hit by a car and here was this gracious man right there to my rescue again. I trusted him with my whole heart, he always told me how it was with no sugar coating. He use to talk to me about his motorcycle, before i was hurt i rode too. He always amazed me with stories he would tell me, my grandparents were from Romania also.
I will truly miss Dr. k. My heart goes out to his family. May God be with you in your time of grief.
Sincerely,
Karen Komsa
