Obituary of Mary F. O´Mara

Mary F. OMara, age 91, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at Haven Hospice in Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield. She was born in Jersey City and had lived in Freehold and in Red Bank before settling in Westfield 12 years ago. Miss OMara received her BA and her MA degree in Education from the New York University in the 1930s. Prior to her retirement in 1970, she worked as a teacher and then a principal in the Jersey City school system. Miss OMara was an avid reader and loved traveling. She is survived by her two cousins, John J. Harris and his wife Agnes of Warren; and Frances Harris of Arizona, along with many other cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 9:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Westfield. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
