Obituary of Robert Martin “Bob” Slater

Bob passed away on August 2, 2004 at the age of 57 after a long and valiant fight with brain cancer. Bob and his wife Susan, raised their family in New Providence, NJ before moving to Stirling, NJ in 1983. Bob received his Bachelors Degree from Upsala College and his MBA from Seton Hall University. Bob spent the past 30 years working in marketing for Novartis Pharmaceuticals in East Hanover, NJ with his final position being an Executive Director of New Product Marketing. Bob is survived and will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Susan of Stirling, NJ; daughter Lori Frances of Hobe Sound, FL; son Matthew, daughter-in-law Kathleen and grandson Jackson of Jupiter, FL; and brother David of Haskell, NJ. Bob is also survived by a large extended family. Bob enjoyed antiques, woodworking and furniture restoration. His hobbies also included golfing, fishing and an appreciation for the outdoors. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his family, many friends and colleagues for his sharp mind, sense of humor and tremendous heart. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of his life at The Primavera Regency on 1080 Valley Road in Stirling, NJ at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2004.
