Obituary of Vincent Mandaglio

Vincent P. Mandaglio, age 84, died on Thursday, August 05, 2004 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in New York City to the late Bartolo and Michelina Longo Mandaglio, Vincent grew up in Plainfield before moving to North Plainfield in 1951. Mr. Mandaglio had a strong interest in stereophonics which led to his appreciation of music. He enjoyed cooking and carpentry. He was a self-employed contractor for 50 years before retiring in 1990. He is predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Anna Comune Mandaglio. He is survived by his three sons, Bart Mandaglio and his wife, Kathleen, of Mendham Township; James Mandaglio and his wife, Laura, of Annandale; Michael Mandaglio and his wife, Debra, of Long Hill Township; one daughter, Roseann Messina, of Flemington; and his seven grandchildren, Christopher and Kevin Messina; Kristen and Lauren Mandaglio; Lia and Jamie Mandaglio; and Jenna Mandaglio. He is predeceased by his two sisters, Mary DeCuollo and Edith Monroe, and is survived by his four sisters, Rosemarie Gentry, Louise Verini, Genevieve D'Amico and Violet Lodato. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 9th at 10 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Joseph R.C. Church, North Plainfield. Interment will be private. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
