Obituary of Donald Francis Crowe
Donald F. Crowe, age 57, of Columbus NJ passed away on Thursday August 26, 2004 on vacation. Mr. Crowe was born in Lowell, MA and had resided in Chelmsford MA and Green Brook NJ before moving tot Columbus NJ two and a half years ago.
Mr. Crowe was the son of the late Benjamin and Doris Crowe of Chelmsford MA.
Mr. Crowe served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War and had received the Bronze Star for Valor and two Purple Hearts. He then settled in NJ.
He is predeceased by his brother Jack Crowe
He is survived by his two sons D. Christopher Crowe and his wife Krista of Franklin Park NJ and Brian F. Crowe of Green Brook; two brothers Benjamin Wayne of Orange Park FL and Robert O. Crowe of MA; and his ex-wife Helen Crowe of Green Brook
Mr. Crowe was a former Boy Scout leader for 25 years in the Watchung Area Council and received high honors in the Order of the Arrow. Mr. Crowe worked for the Government Services Administration in Bordentown as a Federal Supply Clerk for 20 years retiring in 2003. He was a life member of the Middlesex Elks Lodge in Middlesex NJ and had served as the Exalted Ruler, having served as Vice President of the New Jersey Elks and Grand Lodge as District Deputy.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday September 1st 2004 at Higgins Home for Funerals 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung NJ 07069. Followed by an interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown NJ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Elks National Foundation, Middlesex Elks Lodge, Middlesex NJ.
