Obituary of Paula Freedland Polishook

Paula Freedland Polishook, age 77, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, NY, She resided in Berkeley Heights and Middlesex before moving to Monroe Township two years ago. Prior to retiring 22 years ago, Mrs. Polishook worked as a 6th grade teacher in the Middlesex Borough School District at Von Mauger Middle School for over 20 years. Mrs. Polishook attended Douglas University and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Kean University. She played mah jong, cribbage, and was a longtime bridge player. Mrs. Polishook was predeceased by her two husbands, Theodore Freedland in 1983 and Murray Polishook in 2000. Surviving are her two sons, Joe Freedland of Fair Lawn and David and his wife Donna Freedland of Warren; six grandchildren, Navah and her husband Walt, Adar and his wife Chana, Rinat and her husband Levi, Danny, Rachael, a graduate of Boston University and Trevor, a student at Pratt Institute. Also surviving are twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 10 at 12 noon at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung with Rabbi Henry Glazer officiating, followed by interment at Washington Cemetery, Deans. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Middlesex Board of Education, 300 Kennedy Drive, Middlesex, NJ 08846; Attention: Paula Freedland Polishook Literacy, would be deeply appreciated.
