Peter Michael Sylvester, age 49, died on Friday, September 10, 2004 at his home in Wall Township. Born in Plainfield, Mr. Sylvester lived in North Plainfield for many years before moving to Wall Township two years ago.

Prior to his retirement two years ago, Mr. Sylvester was Chief of the North Plainfield Fire Department.

He was also a communicant of St. Lukes Church. Mr. Sylvester was an active member of the North Plainfield/Plainfield Rotary Club and was involved in the Boy Scouts. He was a master craftsman, a certified EMT and enjoyed fly-fishing, golf, and riding motorcycles. He was very devoted to his family.

Mr. Sylvester is predeceased by his father Michael Joseph Sylvester and a sister Tracy Zaninelli. He is survived by his wife, Ami Sylvester; his son, Michael, his mother Ruth McGrath and three sisters Pamela Toresco, Cynthia Griseto and Melissa Verger; one niece and five nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday September 13th, at 9:15 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Lukes R.C. Church in North Plainfield. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ 07069.
