Obituary of Stanley A. Burger

Martinsville: Mr. Stanley A. Burger, 84, died Monday, October 25, 2004 at Lyons VA Medical Center. Born in Plainfield, he resided there until moving to Martinsville 39 years ago. Prior to retiring, he was employed as an electrician for Egan Machinery in Somerville for 10 years and previously was an industrial heating, ventilation and refrigeration installer for 20 years for Binsky & Snyder in North Plainfield. A WWII Army Veteran, he was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. A woodworker, Mr. Burger built his own home and furnishing it with furniture and cabinets he built himself. In addition, he did all the plumbing, electric and painting. He built a stack stone wall for his backyard and enjoyed working on cars. His two brothers, Joseph and Adam Burger and two sisters, Helen Shults and Sophie Janecek all predeceased him. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Eleanor M. Sorbo Burger; two daughters, Kathryn Nette of Escondido, CA and Carolyn Burger of Martinsville and one granddaughter, Cristina Nette.
