Obituary of Harry Aufderheide

Harry Aufderheide, 82, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Watchung Ridge Assisted Living in Watchung. Born in Wilkinsburgh, PA, he lived in Brooklyn, NY for most of his life before moving to Watchung 2 years ago. Mr. Aufderheide worked as an aircraft assembler for Grumman Aerospace in Beth Page, Long Island for over 40 years. He was a member of the Flatbush Dutch Reformed Church in Brooklyn where he served as an elder. He is predeceased by his wife, Vilma Ward Aufderheide in 1992 and his son, Harry Richard Aufderheide in May 2004. . Surviving are his two daughters, Mary Ellen Aufderheide DeVette of Holland, Michigan and Elizabeth A. Gilfedder and her husband Joseph of Berkeley Heights; a daughter-in-law Francine Aufderheide of Monroe Township and his grandchildren, Lauren, Christine, Caleigh and Joseph. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd, Watchung.
