Obituary of Marie Wilson

Marie F. Ree Ree Wilson, age 91, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Chelsea at Fanwood. Born in Plainfield, she was a lifelong resident. As a very young girl, she worked at Wilsons Market, her paternal grandfathers grocery store on 3rd Street between Grant & Clinton Avenue in Plainfield. Marie graduated from St. Marys School in Plainfield and continued her education another two years to embellish her secretarial skills. She began her career as a young woman with Chase National Bank in Manhattan as a stenographer, retiring as the secretary to the Chairman of the Board, Statesman John J. McCloy in 1981. Miss Wilson is survived by her nieces, Ritamarie Russ Koehler of Edison, Barbara Jean Gambale of Farmingdale, NJ, Miles Wilson of Farmingdale, NJ and Mary Ann Wilson of Spokane, WA. Also surviving are 9 grand nieces and nephews and 2 great grand nieces. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2004 at 10:45 am from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street, Plainfield, followed by an 11:30 am funeral Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Scotch Plains. Interment to follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Plainfield. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
