Obituary of Samuel DeLeon
Mr. Samuel DeLeon, 65, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield.
Born in the parish of St. James in Jamaica, he resided there until 1981, when he settled in Plainfield.
Prior to retiring in June of 2004, he was employed as a Rutgers University shuttle bus driver for 12 years.
An avid reader who enjoyed politics, Mr. DeLeon deeply loved his family.
His son Windell "Sarge" Maxam predeceased him in 2004.
Surviving are his wife Bula (Maxam) DeLeon; two sons, Ricardo and his wife Desiree of Jacksonville, FL and Andrew DeLeon of Fairfax, VA; two daughters, Michelle Maxam of Atlanta, GA and Denise DeLeon of Piscataway; a sister Hortense Sherman of Plainfield and six grandchildren, Merissa, Domanique, Ashley, Christina, Rhiannon and Lauren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 15 at 6:00 pm at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West Eighth Street in Plainfield with Pastor Morris officiating. Cremation private. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
