Obituary of Cornelia M. Van Blake

Cornelia Ward Van Blake Plainfield: Cornelia Ward Van Blake, age 85, died on December 27, 2004 at Norwood Terrace Health Center in Plainfield. Mrs. Van Blake, a long time Plainfield resident was a member of many labors, civic and fraternal organizations in the Plainfield area. She was well known as a child advocate. She was a member of the Plainfield Senior Citizens. Mrs. Van Blake was a former Real Estate Administrator for HUD in Washington, D.C. retiring many years ago. She is survived by nine children, Seymour Van Blake III, Claudia Woody, Joan C. Van Blake, Michael G. Van Blake, Mary C. Shoaf, Nancy C. Giagnacova, Clare Van Blake Roberts, Fay C. Batch and Paul J. Van Blake; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Elizabeth Ward Davis, and a brother-in-law Robert Martin and his wife Ann. She was predeceased by her husband Seymour Van Blake and her brother Frederick T. (Bud) Ward. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 9:00 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m.
