Obituary of Ernest Szombath

Ernest Szombath, age 75, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at his home in Warren. Born in Sopron, Hungary, he resided in Passau, Germany for five years before immigrating to the United States in 1950, settling in Union. He resided there before moving to Warren in 1972. Mr. Szombath was a self-employed tool maker at Delta Precision Products in Hillside. Prior to this, he was employed in the same capacity by Western Electric in Hillside for ten years. He enjoyed reading, fishing, bowling and especially loved watching soccer games. He also was an active member of the Schwaebische Saengerbund in Clark. Mr. Szombath is survived by his wife, Margaret Theinert Szombath; his sisters, Elizabeth DeKany of Buffalo, NY and Margaret Habeck of Germany and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at Higgins Home for Funerals. 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung followed by a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mount Church in Warren. Entombment will be at the Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum in Piscataway. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9.
