Carol, a dear and loving person not only to her friends but to the animals she adored and cared for. She was a special person. Knowing her for the past 12 years we will never forget her. She had a special place in her heart for our Bernese Mountain Dog, Wally. Sometimes she would just stop by to see him and say hello, Always with her camera taking special pictures of him. We know he will miss her dearly. From all our pets that you ever cared for, Wally, Emily, Margo, Lily and Skippy who is not with us any longer. May you rest in eternal peace. I'm sure you will be surrounded by love where you are now. There will never be another like you. You will always be in our herats. Helen and Daniel

Carol cared for our cat many times throughout the year for about four years until he past away. After being new to the area and trying different services we were truly happy and always felt comfortable leaving MickeyDee in our home for her to care for. She was reliable, conscientous, and genuinely sincere. I would always bump into her up in town at the Martinsville Post Office. She would always remember me and ask me about my new baby. We never had another pet, but we would always recommend her. Our heart goes out to her family and cannot even imagine the depth of your loss. She was one of the good people in life!

I started using Paws and Purrs before Carol took over. I was worried about the change in ownership. And then I met the new owner-I met Carol. I liked her immediately. Carol took care of my cats twice a year for the past 10 years. She met with me before each petsitting and we sketched out the latest in our lives together. Easy to talk to, easy to trust, easy to be around. I was looking forward to our next chat. I am stunned and very pained at losing Carol. Fun, energetic, vibrant, serious, responsible, sweet. I am so sorry.

I'm a fellow pet sitting service owner(PetNanny), like Carol was; and, she and I used to talk on the phone about our petsitting experiences. I also met her in person, the last time being when Becky got married. Carol called on me to substitute for her while she was in Florida. I was glad to do it for such a nice person; she was sweet and genuine and we shared the love of animals. I'm sad when I think about her not being around any more, and I start to cry. It's such a loss for the people and a loss for the pets. If I can be of any help to you, or with fulfilling her customer's needs, you may call me anytime 908-526-5989.
You have my SINCEREST SYMPATHIES and she has MY PRAYERS.

To Carol's Daughter, Mother, Sisters and Brother, I offer my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. Carol was the caregiver for my pets: Wicket, Bud, PC and Nicki when I went away. And, added to that she fed the fish in the pond and the wild birds so they would be cared for also.
Carol was one of the happiest people I knew and was always learning new things and living life. We should all learn from Carol's actions.
Carol loved her job and took wonderful care of God's creatures. I know God will bless her for that!
I know we all miss her!

To Carol's Family -
Carol was one of the few people in the world who could touch everyone that she met like a ray of sunshine.
She took care of my dog Boo for over 3 years, and each day she left a note with a positive message on my coffee table - sometimes about the weather sometimes about the fantastic things she was doing in her life.
All her friends in Manville will miss those notes and Carol very much.
Sincerely,
Carol Renteria

Dear Mrs. Mleczko, Barbara, Jeannie & Eddie: My heart truly aches with sadness over Carol's passing. I am so sorry. This is a very difficult time for everyone. Carol was a bright and shining light in this world, always giving unselfishly, always kind and loving to everyone. After my mom passed away, she stopped by one day and said, "Remember me, I'm Carol" with her big, happy smile. I told her I remembered when she was born. We both laughed as I even remembered that she had been born in April. We chatted for a long time and caught up on past memories. She came back another time just to say hi and see how things were going at the house. The last time she came by she came with her Mom, Mary (my second mother!), and you two had just been to the bakery and brought over those special Polish cookies covered with powdered sugar. Thank you. She also brought some pictures of all of us kids from the 1950's that she had enlarged. It made that day so special since I was leaving that day to come back to Colorado. That was the last time I saw Carol. It is a wonderful memory. Carol lived life to the fullest and you couldn't help but being happy around her. I am thankful to God for her life. I wish I could be with all of you today, but I will surely be there in spirit. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Love, Linda Lewis Martin, Conifer, Colorado

Carol, my wonderful neighbor, would always ride by my mom's house on Manville Blvd. If we were outside, she'd stop by to ask us all, how we were. She is one of the most congenial and thoughtful people I have ever known. She had an enthusiam that was contageous, and every time you spoke to her, you left her feeling in a great and uplifting mood. She was very inspirational. I live now in Denver, Colorado for not quite two years. During my last visit to NJ, my sister Diane and I stopped by Mrs. Mleczko to say hello. Then Carol and the rest of us had a great pizza dinner at Russo's Pizzeria. We laughed alot and caught up on all the latest news going on with all of us. I had plans to write, send photos of Colorado and hopefully get together with her out here.
In God's decision, I believe it was her fate to now go on to afterlife. I believe the angels are watching her and she may be in a wonderful place.
CAROL, WE LOVE YOU AND YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE, I KNOW, IN MY LIFE. YOU WILL ALWAYS LIVE ON IN MY HEART.

My coworkers and I will always remember Carol for her upbeat, positive personality and her love for life and photography. Carol was a frequent customer at our busy copy center, and we were always amazed by her beautiful photography, and were holding on to the hope that she could one day fulfill her dream of photography. To me, she was more than just your ordinary customer; she was a friend, someone with whom I would talk about photos, pets, and we would suggest books to each other, since we both liked to read. My heartfelt sympathies go out to her entire family, and my prayers are with you - the world has truly lost a caring, kindhearted individual.

To Carol’s family and friends,
My heart goes out to all of you – I cannot even begin to imagine how you are feeling now. Carol cared for our cats many times in the years since she first took over Paws and Purrs, and words cannot describe the enormous amount of love and care she showered on them. It was obvious that she put her whole heart and spirit into her vocation and that she was truly devoted to the animals she cared for. So many times I would run into Carol when she was making her rounds, and she was always as positive, enthusiastic and energetic as when she first started in the business (even when it was snowing hard out and she had more visits to make). Even though so much of her time was taken up by her work, she was always searching out opportunities to grow and to master new things. She was always so thoughtful and considerate, like when she photographed all of our cats while we were on vacation and framed the pictures – we have them displayed proudly on our mantel. And then there was the last time we spoke, when Carol called us in our hotel room just to let us know that our cats were doing fine. My husband and I will always remember Carol.

To Carol, my dear cousin,
I cannot understand
Why you had to leave us,
What exactly was God's plan?
Your ever-giving spirit
Will soar forever more,
Your gentleness and kindness
Forever will outpour.
For the heavens have a bright new star,
It's watching over us.
It tells a message that's loud and clear,
And questions all the fuss.
"Do not grieve for me, I'm safe at last,
My journey there is through.
God had a plan, He called me up,
And my life begins anew."
Dear Carol, we will meet again,
Your memories I will save.
For now, I'll close my eyes and see
Your smile, your face, your wave.
Your loving cousin,
Dot

To The Family of Carol Costa:
I extend my heartfelt condolences to you
at this time of profound sorrow. I am deeply saddened.
I entrusted Carol with
the care of my beloved border collie, Spy for 8 years. During that time, I came to know her as a
thoughtful, honest, enthusiastic,energetic,
loving, cheerful,
caring and sensitive woman.
Her devotion to her
daughter, Becky and her mother was admirable and a sign of goodness.
I admired her for learning
about so many things; Reiki, homeopathy, alternativemedicine, natural pet care and photography. She took
photography courses in NYC while she continued her pet
sitting business, pretty much single handedly.
She showed me her album of
photographs she had taken at Becky's wedding and I was struck by her talent, creativity and her ability to candidly capture the spirit of her subjects. I told her so. She was committed to the black and white medium, the mark of a professional.
She took many photographs of Spy through the years, many of which are among my favorites.
Our neighborhood will not be the same without Carol,
smiling while holding onto
the end of the leash of one of her contented furry charges.
I am very grateful for the years of wonderful care that Carol gave to Spy, who has deep affection for her, as do I. We were blessed by her presence in our lives.
I will remember Carol and
you in my thoughts and prayers.
