Obituary of Richard J. Klenert

Mr. Richard J. Klenert, age 71, died on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at his home. Born in Baldwin, NY, Mr. Klenert had lived in Bridgewater, Columbus, OH, and then Warren, NJ for 23 years before moving to Galloway Township six years ago. Mr. Klenert graduated St. Johns University in 1957 with a B.S. in finance and he is a member of their Alumni. Mr. Klenert started as a staff accountant at Bell Labs in Manhattan, NY then transferred to Bell Labs in Murray Hill. Mr. Klenert transferred again to Columbus, OH as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of the Switching Division and then returned to Bell Labs in Short Hills where he worked until his retirement as Treasurer and Controller. Mr. Klenert was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the AT&T Pioneer Club in Basking Ridge. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Catherine (Basile) Klenert; his son, Michael Klenert of Bedminster; his daughters, Diana Casciano and her husband Vincent of Watchung and Terri-Frances Klenert of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his sisters Virginia Cavanagh of West Sayville, Long Island, NY, Mary Connor and her husband William of North Merrick, NY and Janice May and her husband James of Melville, NY; his brother-in-law Vincent Basile and his wife Ann; his sister-in-law Joan Basile. The funeral will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 9 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Mary Stony Hill R.C. Church, Watchung. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Entombment will be at St. Mary Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung.
