If there ever was a role model for a great mother-in-law, it was Jennie Siegrist. Jennie was so kind and unassuming. She embraced me right away, while others may have been sizing me up. Jennie, so shy, never wanting to be the center of attention, never wanting to be a burden or put anyone out. Well, if I can do half as well raising my two children, as she did raising eight on a shoestring, I will feel very proud. Eight wonderful children, happily married with 15 wonderful grandchildren. All of them well-educated, happy and independent. Jennie deserves all our admiration and respect. She most assuredly has mine. The last time we spoke, I told her I loved her and she replied, "I love you all". Of course, anyone can see that she most definitley did, as demonstrated by her tireless efforts on everyone's behalf. If you were to look up "giver" in the dictionary, Jennie Siegrist's name would be there. I know she is enjoying her reunion with all her loved ones who went before her, but I grieve for myself and most for her children; Raymond, Janet, Beverly, Bruce, Michael, Karen, Lori and Ernie.
Love,
Emily
