Obituary of John A. DiCanto, Jr.

John A. DiCanto, Jr., age 60 died on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. He was born in Plainfield and had lived in Watchung fro 32 years before moving to Martinsville 3 years ago. Mr. DiCanto started working with his father at the age of 15 and worked his way to owning and operating his own business. He was a member of the Somerville Elks Club and of the Warren Cigarville Club. His family was his focus and he was devoted to his grandchildren. He was a very generous man, a friend to all and loved people. His father, John A. DiCanto, Sr. predeceased him in 1991. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Marie A. Toth DiCanto; his son, John A. DiCanto, III and his wife Arian of Middlesex; his daughter, Nicole LoStocco and her husband, Robert of Branchburg; his grandchildren, Brianna DiCanto and Samantha DiCanto; his mother, Mary Napolitano DiCanto of Annandale; brother, Dominick DiCanto and his wife Deborah of Easton, PA; sister-in-law, Joan Lamson and brother-in-law Gary of Warren; brother-in-law, Randall Toth of Milltown and many nieces. The funeral will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at St. Marys Stony Hill Church, Watchung. Entombment will be in St. Marys Stony Hill Cemetery, Watchung. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9.
