Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Brokenbough

Mary Elizabeth Brokenbough, age 73, died on Friday, April 21, 2006 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. She was born in Plainfield and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Plainfield High School in 1951. Ms Brokenbough worked in the Bulk and Hand Winding Department for Ethicon, Inc. in Bridgewater, for 25 years retiring in 1996. She was a life long member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Plainfield and served on the Nurses Unit at the church. She also was a volunteer for the Plainfield Shut-In Council. Ms Brokenbough is predeceased by her parents, Wilfred E. Brokenbough and Mary Watson; and her brother, Wilfred Brokenbough. Surviving are her son, David B. Brokenbough and his wife Dorita (Simmons); her sisters, Sarah Gillespie, Lucille Clarke and Louvinia Urquhart; her Aunt Martha Watson (was like her second mother); and her grandchildren, Jason Brokenbough and Kristin Brokenbough. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, West 4th St., Plainfield. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the church. Interment will be on Wednesday and will follow a 10 am gathering at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th, Plainfield.
