I worked with Arnie at Davis Hoxie for four years in the 1980s. As many have said, he was a "good guy", and I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.

Dear Elaine,
I was saddened to learn of Arnie's death last week when I was back in North Plainfield tending to my mother, who had been hospitalized. Arnie and I were in the same classes in high school, and we spent time together at one of our reunions. I will remember Arnie fondly as a sweet man with a wonderful laugh. My deepest condolences to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Marjorie Norquist

When I was 13 years old, I would go over to his mother's house after Arnold birth and help with chores during my summer vacation. Seeing him again at our family reunion is a wonderful memory. He is surely in God's loving arms after a courageous battle. He will always be in our hearts.

Arnie and I went to high school together and our paths crossed again in later years. He was such a kind, gentle man...always with a smile that made you feel so good to be around him. I am relieved that his suffering is over, but so very, very sad that smile and his gentle ways will no longer be with those of us who were lucky enough to call him friend.

Elaine,
I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Arnold's passing. He is a permanent fixture in my many memories of Belmont Avenue. Arnold, along with Timmy Carroll, Dickie Nielsen, Johnny Wahler and Richard made Belmont a very colorful place to grow up.
59 is way too young to say goodbye.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time, Elaine. I remember so many things about Arnold's early years. He was always very determined. His accomplishments and successful career are the result. The Cub Scout days at 82 Belmont Ave. are still memories of Arnold, as a young scout with character and purpose.
I express sincere condolences.

I was 15 when I met Arnold for the first time. My mom, Anne-Marie, had known him from the time he left the hospital as a newborn. I was babysitting and alone with the children. This unknown man comes out of the basement and I called my mom out of fear. She demanded I put Arnold on the phone, she was worried for me. Next I know Arnold is laughing and telling me that Anne-Marie is his cousin and we are related. We laughed about this at one of the Scavuzzo reunions some years back. I am happy I was able to see him again after so many years. My memory of him is as a kind, gentle, loving man. I too am battling cancer now and my thoughts have turned to him quite often. I hope he is looking after me from above.

Arnie, my baby cousin born when I was 20.He grew up to be a man of integrity, high self-esteem, very well educated, yet always a humble gentle person to all his friends (from High School days), business collegues, and throughout his life. Arnie was a very devoted man to his "immediate family" and kind to his relatives of all ages. He especially enjoyed the Holiday Seasons, when we gathered together for a "Family Feast" We will ALL miss "Arnie" as GOD chose to take him home to rest - no more pain, no more suffering~~~~ FROM MY "HEART WITH TEAR DROPS~~~~~~ Cousin Marion

Arnie, you will be missed, you were always one of my favorite people to work with at Davis Hoxie, a good friend to so many of us and you always found some humor in the horrible hours we used to have to put in. Rest in peace and God Bless you.
