Obituary of Rose B Nacht
Martinsville: Rose B. Nacht, age 80, died on February 22, 2013, at her home in Martinsville. Born in New York City, raised in the Bronx, Rose resided in Plainfield before moving to Martinsville in 1977.
She received her bachelor's degree in education from Newark State College. Rose was employed as an elementary school teacher by the North Plainfield Board of Education, having first taught third grade and then second at the West End School. After retiring, she returned to the school as a volunteer.
Rose also volunteered at the Young Authors Association reading program and the Head Start Program and was a Girl Scout Leader while raising her family.
She was the president of the Renaissance Group at Temple Sholom and was a member of the Council of Jewish Women in Plainfield.
Rose was an excellent baker and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Rose and her husband Alan enjoyed independent travel. On one vacation, she taught school at a Navajo Native American Reservation in Arizona.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alan D. Nacht; a son Arthur Nacht of Highland Park; two daughters, Susan Sherman and her husband Ken of Cincinnati, OH, Barbara Rosen and her husband, David of Succasunna and a sister Roberta B. Hofmann of West Palm Beach, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Marc, Adam, and Amy.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 25, 2013, at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd. Watchung, NJ, followed by a burial at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin. On Tuesday evening, February 26, a Shiva service will be held at the home of Barbara and David Rosen, 3 Carriage Lane, Succasunna, NJ, at 7:30 pm.
The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of the Rosens on Wednesday, February 27.
