Obituary of Elsa W. Ferris

Middlesex: Elsa W. Ferris, age 92, died on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at her home in Middlesex. She was born in Lynbrook, NY and lived in Middlesex most of her life. Mrs. Ferris began working in her fathers greenhouse and in 1951 opened a wholesale florist business; Ferris Brothers Inc., with her husband, Archibald Ferris and worked there until she passed away. Mrs. Ferris enjoyed spending time with her family and most recently, with her nine great-grandchildren who brought joy to her life. She spent many summers at the family lake home in North Jersey, where she loved to fish. She enjoyed family gatherings and attended all celebrations. She is predeceased by her husband, Archibald Ferris in 1997, her son, William A. Ferris in 2006 and her brother, Carl Finck in 1998. She is survived by her son, Robert K. Ferris and his wife Catherine of Middlesex; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Ferris; her grandchildren, Robert W. and his wife, Carol, Jay, Kathleen and her husband Peter and Karen and her husband Joseph. Also surviving are her nine great-grandchildren, Carli, Nicholas, Melinda, Robyn, Samantha, Andrew, Emily, Hannah and Alexander. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 2, 2007 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 214 Church Street, Bound Brook followed by interment at Bound Brook Cemetery.
