Obituary of Jean Tobey
Jean Botkin Tobey, age 88, died on Monday April 23, 2007, at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City.
Mrs. Tobey was born in New York and had lived in North Plainfield before moving back to New York in 2004.
She graduated with a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Montclair State University in Montclair in 1976. Mrs. Tobey worked for many years as a Dental Hygienist in Plainfield for her husband Dr. Hyman Tobey. She later went on to become an Art Teacher for the Sundance School in North Plainfield. Mrs. Tobey was a talented artist, who loved the Theatre. In her spare time she was an avid reader and loved music and cooking. She was a truly devoted wife and mother.
She is predeceased by her son Robert Tobey in 1987.
Mrs. Tobey is survived by her husband of 65 years Dr. Hyman Tobey; her sons Richard and Jeffrey Tobey; her daughter Laurie Tobey Freedman; nephew Stuart Margues and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 12 noon at Temple Sholom, Scotch Plains. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
