Obituary of Marilyn E. Velten

Warren, NJ: Marilyn E. (Sandel) Velten, age 78, died on Thursday April 26, 2007 surrounded by those she loved at the home of her daughter Darcy and son-in-law Joe Passaro. Born in Brooklyn, NY she had resided in Staten Island and Marshalls Creek, PA. Mrs. Velten was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. While residing in Staten Island, she was very active in the Mothers Club, the Sunset Womens Bowling League and the Silvettes Womans Golf Association. After moving to PA., she became active in the Mountain Manor Ladies Golf Club of Marshalls Creek. She also enjoyed playing Bridge. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Velten in 1991 and her brothers, Henry and Charles Sandel. Surviving are her daughters, Doreen Velten of Staten Island; Dianne Maida of Tarpon Springs, FL. and Darcy Passaro of Warren, NJ; her brother Earl Sandel of Staten Island; seven grandchildren Ricky, Jodi, Joseph, Corey, Kelli, Michael and Arthur AJ and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 30th at 9:15 a.m. at the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount R.C. Church in Warren and interment at Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
