Obituary of Theresa L. Theroux
Berkeley Heights, NJ: Mrs. Theresa Theroux (nee LaCroix), passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in Berkeley Heights, NJ at the age of 90. Born in Stoke, Quebec, Canada, she moved to Hamden, CT in 1933 and later to Branford, where she raised her family and resided for 52 years.
Theresa was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was an active and long-standing member of St. Mary's Ladies' Guild. She was a founding member of the Emblem Club of Branford; a member of the French Club of New Haven and for 42 years, a partner in her husband's business, Branford Pest Control.
She was predeceased by her parents, Albina and Hector LaCroix, her eight brothers and sisters, her grandson, Kevin Ellis and her beloved husband Gene Theroux, to whom she was married for 59 years. She was a devoted mother to her four children and leaves behind Julie Ellis and her husband James of Huntington Beach, CA, William Theroux and his wife Janelle of Branford, CT, Elaine Platt and her husband Gary of Green Brook, NJ and Dennis Theroux of Nashville, TN. She also leaves four grandsons, Christopher Ellis, Darren Ellis, Daniel Theroux and his wife Diane and Timothy Theroux and his wife Stefanie and five great granddaughters, Stephanie and Lauren Theroux, Kayla Ellis and Jacqueline and Rebecca Theroux.
Theresa will be laid to rest in the St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. She was admired by friends and deeply loved by her family who will miss her forever. Arrangements by Higgins Funeral Home, Watchung, NJ.
