Obituary of Frank Bailey, Jr.

Frank Bailey, Jr. was born August 8, 1949 to the late Frank, Sr. and Viola Cox Bailey. He departed this life on May 18, 2007. He was predeceased by his brother, Callom B. Cox. He was well known as "Frankie". Frankie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield until 2005 before he relocated to North Carolina. Frankie grew up in Plainfield and graduated Plainfield High School in 1968. He worked at National Starch for 15 years retiring in 2001. He was most recently employed by Reheis Corp. as a chemical operator, until his death. He was an active member of Hiriam Lodge #3 AF&AM Plainfield, NJ where he had served as Past Worshipful Master, he was also a member of King Hiram Grand Lodge 33rd degree Mason and Jepthah Chapter #2 Order of the Eastern Star Plainfield. Frankie will always be remembered for his love of fishing, boats and just about anything else that had to do with the outdoors. And his cooking, whenever there was a Bailey's Family Reunion, he thought he was the Grand master Chef. Frankie truly was a good father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all, whenever you needed him, he was there, although he might fuss a little, but he would show up. He leaves to cherish his memory, three children, April D. Bailey, Elvira Yvette Bailey and Michael M. Bailey; five grandchildren, Vashon L. Hill, Jr., A'neria N. Bailey, Yasin M. Bailey and Samayah D. and Sahmad D. Bailey all of Plainfield. His former wife, Barbara Bailey-Newsome of North Carolina. He also leaves six sisters, Doris Beverly(Theodore), Ruby Gresham(James), Laheart Taylor(Donald) and Lillie Bailey all of Plainfield, NJ; Sarah Wilkins(Floyd) of Grimesland, NC, Linda Johnson of VA; four brothers, Jeffery Bailey, Michael E.Bailey, Allen Bailey and Bryan Bailey all of Plainfield; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Cox of Plainfield; four aunts, Elnora Freeman of Meherrin, VA, Virginia Meredith of Sacramento, CA, Lavina Summers of Cranford, NJ and Elizabeth Smith of Plainfield, NJ and a devoted friend, Alvera Hargrove of Plainfield, NJ. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 from 7-9 pm at Higgins Home for Funerals, 209 West 8th Street, Plainfield. The funeral service is on Thursday, May 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the Ruth Fellowship Ministries, 733 South 2nd Street, Plainfield, NJ. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery on Woodland Ave., Scotch Plains, NJ.
