Obituary of Joel Goldschein
Joel Goldschein, age 74, died of cancer on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at his home.
He was born in NYC and he had lived in Watchung for the last 33 years. He graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from Clarkson University in 1957 and was due to receive A Golden Knight award for his service to his alma mater in July. He was President of Atlas Door Corporation, a company he started in 1973, which manufactured rolling steel doors and grilles. The firm was sold and he retired in 1986 to pursue his life long interests in sport fishing, skiing, traveling and becoming a private pilot.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda of 44 years, 3 daughters, Sharon Parker and her husband Jeff; Gail Bell and her husband Mike; and Terri Goldschein; 2 grandsons, Zachary and Ian Parker and a brother Gerald.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 26th at 11 a.m. in the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Boulevard, Watchung. Interment will be at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge.

Shiva will be held on Tuesday immediately after funeral until 9 pm and Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 9 pm at his residence and also at Gerald's residence (13 Old Chimney Road, Randolph, NJ ) on Wednesday after 7 pm.
